Who is my God? He is Creator of the universe and all things in it. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is unapologetically Holy and unfailingly Loving. He is Truth, Light and incredibly indescribable. He is glorious, infinite, patient and kind. He has never and will never fail. He has parted seas, stopped the sun, brought the rain, shook the earth and held me with a gentle hand. He cares for the widow and the orphan and will answer those who call upon His name. He has knitted me together, numbered my days and met my every need. He has vanquished every foe, defeated every enemy and claimed victory over death. He led His people out of bondage and freed every slave. He came to us in complete humility and righteousness. He owned nothing yet everything belongs to Him. He closed the mouths of the lions, caused the donkey to talk, gave sight to the blind, healed the lame, slayed the giant and gave life to the barren womb. He is worthy, perfect, just, patient, merciful, trustworthy and gracious. He is a strong tower, a mighty rock, an impenetrable fortress and shelters me under his wings. He is the Almighty and the Good Shepard. He causes the winds to blow and quiets the waters. He is fearless, flawless and forever faithful. He has established kings and caused them to fall. No leader has ruled without his approval. He is jealous and generous. He knows the number of the hairs on my head, the cattle on a thousand hills and each grain of sand in the ocean. He has never been caught off guard, taken by surprise or forgotten a single thing. He knows all things, even the things we think we can hide. He heals the broken, encourages the downtrodden, feeds the hungry and comforts the mourning. His blessings are uncountable and his mercy is overwhelming. His grace is more than sufficient and his yoke is light. He is the ultimate warrior and magnificent healer. He is the alpha and omega. He has always been and will always be. His voice is the sound of thunder and a gentle whisper. His name is above all names and without equal. He is in the valley and on the summit. He set the stars and planets in place and causes the flowers and trees to bloom. He suffered beyond imagination and hung on a cross. He laid dead in a grave but busted the gates of hell wide open. He called children to him and men to follow him. He cleared the temple and washed the feet of his disciples. He spoke from a burning bush, rained manna from heaven, caused the walls of Jericho to crumble, walked on water and causes storms to cease. He is the source of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. He is Jehovah, Yahweh, Adonai, Elohim, El Shaddai, El Gibhor and Emmanuel. He is the Bridegroom and Redeemer. He answers to no one and is the answer for everyone. His Word is a sharp Sword and he is our Shield. One day the sky will split, the trumpet will sound and He will return. He is the fulfillment of prophecy and the salvation to all nations. The stones will cry out if we don’t proclaim His name. He is Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent and Sovereign. He is Noble, Long-suffering, Vigilant, Sanctified and the Great Judge. He is Incorruptible, Miraculous, Breathtaking and Cleansing. He is the Godhead, Three in One. He is the Great I Am. He is the only one worthy of praise. He has the power to command the demons and calls us to obey His commands. He is Father, Spirit and Son. He tore the veil and caused water to gush from the rock. He filled the nets with fish and turned water into wine. He shed His blood so that our sin would be made clean. He reigned fire from the sky and protected those in the furnace from the flames. He gave His life for us and in return asks us to live for Him.
My God is all of this yet these words don’t begin to describe who He is! We cannot comprehend Him, define Him or limit Him. But we can know Him. He is my God!
Is He yours?
